From Durban, take the N3 towards PMB. Take the R56 Richmond/Umlaas Road TURN-OFF (t/off No.61.....)This will be the turn-off after the “Camperdown “ one. As you come around the sharp bend, you will see the R56 turn-off to your RIGHT. Turn RIGHT. Proceed along this road for app.14km until you come to a T-junction with lots of speed-bumps, a saw-mill on your right hand side and chicken sheds in front of you. Bear LEFT and you will be on the R56 towards Richmond. Stay on this winding road for about 20km. There will be a long downhill section with the Richmond turn-off at the bottom of the hill. (Watch the speed limit in this area for obvious reasons) Turn LEFT. If you overshoot this turning you will go under a fly-over and be on your way to Ixopo. Go up the short hill to the stop sign.(McKenzies Plant hire will be to the left of you) Turn RIGHT and drive straight through the town of Richmond. You will pass Caltex Pilsons Garage and KFC on your left. Carry on past Medina Cash and Carry out of town. Stay on this road. You will pass the Hella-Hella turn off to your left, but continue on straight for 11km until you see the “Byrne” and “Oaks Hotel” signs. Turn RIGHT. (If you miss this turning you will hit a dirt road.) Go past the huts on the left and Illovo Neck School on the right, and up a steep hill until you come to the village of Byrne.(app.5km.) Stay on the tar road through the village and you will see our sign and drive-way on the LEFT hand side. If you overshoot our entrance, you will go past a little church and hit a dirt road...
